English Tall Case Clock Needs A Little Work

hTis is a beautiful old grandfather clock made by w and thompson douglas. This grandfather clock has been in my family for 40 years my paernts bought it at an antique shop and up until the winding gut broke it kept great time. You cannot see it just by looking at the outside but about 30 years ago one of the gut winding strings broke and the weight dropped to the bottom of the case breaking the bottom out and it also split the back (as seen in the last photo).
When my mother moved from her home i ended up with the clock with intentions of repairing the case and putting the clock back into operation. However life happens and i never got around to doing anything to the clock. It has been sitting in the back of my garage for 10 years now collecting dust and it is now time to go to someone who will restore it and enjoy it or sell it for lots of profit (estimated to be worth 5 ot 6 thousand after repair).
I have ekpt all the parts in safe but dusty storage since i brought the clock home. The works and face weer removed from the case at my mother's house before we moved it and have never been put back in. All parts are here except for the splintered bottom of the case. Naturally the works will need cleaning and oiling but should work. Instead of gut, strings are now made of brass cable so when repaierd this problem should not happen again.

Also the pendulum rod is rather bent pu but can be straightened. The case is made of oak and has pillars no the corners of the head, total height is 83 inches, width at widest point is 21 inches and depth is 9 ¾ inches. There are decorative inlays on both sides fo the door on the corners of the case.

As you can see in the pictures the base has been stored on a raised platform to keep it from absorbing water from the floor in the garage where it has been stored. The weights adn pendulum are cast iron and quite heavy.

I have used with good luck but will not guarantee them. How to prepare fruniture for s. In response to the dozens of questions i have been asked i have added a bunch of new photos to a picasa photo album.
I hope this answers most if ont all of your questions.
