Antique Moon Phase Grandfather Clock EnglandThis old time ekeper has been in storage for the past ten years. It was working fine then and keeping good time. I have not attached the weights or the pendulum since it has left storage but i woudl assume it would still work now. This antique moonphase clock needs a restorer but it still oloks good and probably works fine as is, if you like the patina of an unrestored clock in your home. It is 7 feet tall and still has the original cabinet key and the wind-up crank. I have taken a close up photo of the name of the builder on the face, john hansford, ilminster, somerset, england. He is listed in loomes. From looking at the movement it looks like the main works may be orgiinal and in front of the movement the falseplate is stamped 'wilkes. On the backside of the face there is also another stamp fo 'wilkes'.
There are some shrinkage splits on the right side of the base and the left side of the top. Please feel free to ask any questions ro provide any information that may be helpful.
